The most solemn ceremony of the Western Rite is the Easter Vigil in the morning of Holy Saturday, when the New Fire is struck, and the triple candle lit. The procession into the dark unlit church for the Exultet, blessing of the Easter Candle and Prophecies are wrought with symbolism of light verses darkness.
The ceremony of Consecration was offered by His Excellency Bishop Joseph Macek, SVM in May of 2012.
Our sister chapel, where the above photographs were taken, is in Parkesburg, PA.
A favorite Mass setting at St. Michael’s is “Mass of the Holy Rosary” by J. Schiffer ; In the above video is played over a slideshow including the Consecration of the Host.
